Two post lifts
Two post car lifts
The workshop's default lift. The range is built on the XP-2-40 family at 4,000 kg — floor-plate and gantry forms, single-side, two-side and electric lock release — with 4,500 kg and 5,000 kg models above it and the wide XP-2-55C at the top.

Floor-plate or gantry: the first two-post decision
A floor-plate two-post lift carries a steel plate between the posts at floor level, which keeps the overall height down and suits workshops with lower ceilings. A clear-floor gantry lift runs its cables and hoses through an overhead crossbar instead, leaving the floor between the posts completely open for transmission jacks, oil drainers and creepers. Both forms bolt to the concrete and lift on two hydraulic posts with swing arms; the choice is about your ceiling and your floor work, not about strength.
Release systems are the second decision. The XP-2-40A works a single-side manual release, the XP-2-40 a two-side release, and the XP-2-40B an electric release that drops the locks from the power unit. Work the domestic family from the main detail page — every model at 1,900 mm lifting height, capacities from 4,000 to 5,500 kg. For the XP-7255TD and XP-7132, work from their own pages and take each specification from its own page.

Checks before a two-post quote
- Ceiling height at the exact bay position — gantry models need the full post height plus working clearance.
- Concrete thickness and quality where the posts will bolt down; two-post lifts concentrate load at two footprints.
- The widest and heaviest vehicle on your books, including long-wheelbase vans.
- Door-opening room: post spacing decides whether doors open fully at working height.
- Single-phase or three-phase supply at the bay, and where the power unit will mount.
Questions buyers ask about two post lifts
Floor-plate or clear-floor gantry — which should I buy?
Buy the gantry if your ceiling clears it and you roll equipment between the posts all day; buy the floor-plate if the ceiling is low or the overhead bar would clash with roof boxes and tall vans. Strength and lifting height are comparable; the difference is the floor and the ceiling, not the lift's ability.
What do the release options change in daily work?
Single-side release means one walk to one post per lift cycle; two-side means a walk to both posts; electric release removes the walks entirely. On a busy two-post bay the electric option pays for itself in steps; on a low-volume bay it is a luxury.
Can a two-post lift go on an existing slab?
Only if the slab meets the thickness and strength the installation drawing calls for at the bolt points. Send your slab facts with the inquiry and ask for the foundation requirements for the exact model in writing before you order.
Send an inquiry
Ask for the unit matched to your work. Send the model code you are considering and the work it will do each week; ask for that model's specification sheet in return.
