Scissor lifts
Car scissor lifts
Platforms that rise on a scissor mechanism and leave the bay floor clear when lowered. The family divides into full-rise platforms for underbody work, a mid-rise model for tyre and brake bays, and in-ground platforms that sit flush with the floor.

One mechanism, three workshop answers
Full-rise scissor lifts carry the vehicle on twin platforms to full standing height and suit general repair work; the XP-8435, XP-8435S and XP-8440 group lifts to 2,100 mm. Mid-rise models stop at wheel-and-brake working height — the XP-8228 reaches 1,250 mm — and exist for the fast-service bay where the lift cycles all day on tyres, brakes and inspections. In-ground scissor lifts sink into a pit so the lowered platform is flush with the floor: the XP-9345, XP-9540X and XPJS4021 group, for bays that must read as empty floor until the lift is needed.
The wider scissor range behind these groups runs from small platform models such as the XP-1030 to ultra-thin designs such as the XPJS3019T; Each form has its own detail page: work from the page for your form, with that group's full parameter table in front of you. The scissor mechanism lifts level by construction, which is also why alignment work likes the in-ground form.

Checks before a scissor quote
- Working height you actually need: full underbody access or wheel-and-brake height.
- For in-ground models: pit construction, drainage and who builds the pit to the drawing.
- Platform length against your longest vehicle, and block positions for sill lifting.
- Floor loading under the base frame — scissor lifts spread load differently from posts.
- Whether the bay must stay drive-through clear when the lift is lowered.
Questions buyers ask about scissor lifts
Scissor or two-post for a small workshop?
A mid-rise scissor earns its keep on wheels, brakes and detailing and stores flat; a two-post wins on underbody access and engine-out work. If gearbox and exhaust work is daily, the posts win; if the bay is tyre-led, the scissor usually does.
What does in-ground installation involve?
A formed pit built to the model's drawing, with power and air lines run to it and drainage thought through. The lift itself arrives as a unit; the civil work is yours or your builder's, which is why the pit drawing is one of the first documents to request.
Can a scissor lift do alignment work?
In-ground platforms are the alignment candidates because they lift level and can take turntables; the aligner still has to be configured for the platform. The alignment guide works through the pairing.
