2 post lift

2 post lifts: the family tabulated

Every model in the two-post family lifts to 1,900 mm; what changes is capacity, width and release. Compare the XP-2-40 core family and the heavier models above it in the table below, on the manufacturer's own figures.

Fit check: the family's fit question is width: pass width decides which vehicles enter, total width decides whether the lift enters your bay.

Reading the family: capacity steps and width steps

The XP-2-40 models share one skeleton: 4,000 kg capacity, 1,900 mm lifting height, 110 mm minimum height and a 2,790 mm inner column width. They divide on total width (3,320 to 3,390 mm), pass width and release system. The XP-2-45C and XP-2-50C step capacity to 4,500 and 5,000 kg on a wider 3,650 mm frame with a 3.0 kW motor. The XP-2-55C is a different scale of machine — 5,500 kg, a 3,055 mm pass width and 4,500 mm total width — for the widest vehicles and the roomiest door opening in the family.

All models run a 50–60 second lifting time and a 24 Mpa rated oil pressure, on 380V three-phase or 220V single-phase motor supply. The table below is complete for the family's main models; S-suffix variants of the 40 and 45 models share their base model's figures.

Release systems, honestly compared

The XP-2-40A works a single-side manual release: both sides unlock from one post, one walk per cycle. The XP-2-40 works a two-side release, a walk to each post. The XP-2-40B's title feature is its electric release, dropping the locks from the power unit without the walks. Ask for the rest of the family's release arrangement by name, because it is the specification you will feel every working day and the one buyers most often leave unasked.

There is no strength difference hiding in the release choice. There is a steps-per-day difference, and on a two-post bay cycling twenty cars, electric release is a labour feature, not a luxury. On a four-car day it buys nothing. Your volume decides, and the inquiry should state it.

Floor, ceiling and the bolt question

Every two-post lift concentrates its load at two post feet, so the installation conversation is concrete: thickness, strength and the bolt pattern for the exact model. Gantry versions additionally need their full overall height under your ceiling, with the crossbar clear of lights, heaters and door tracks. Neither question is answerable from a parameter table — both are answerable from the model's installation drawing, which is a document to request before the lift is ordered, not when it is standing in the yard.

Motor supply is the third installation fact: the family runs 2.2 kW motors at 4,000 kg and 3.0 kW above that, in 380V three-phase or 220V single-phase versions. Name your supply in the inquiry so the quoted model is the version your building can feed.

Installation checks for any model in this family

  • Concrete thickness and strength at both post positions, checked against the model's drawing.
  • Ceiling height over the bay, including lights and door tracks, for gantry versions.
  • Total width against the bay: 3,320 mm at the narrow end, 4,500 mm for the XP-2-55C.
  • Pass width against your widest vehicle with mirrors folded and doors opening.
  • Power supply phase at the bay, matched to the motor version ordered.

Questions buyers ask about 2 post lift

Which model is the default buy?

For a general car workshop, an XP-2-40 family model: the capacity covers cars and car-derived vans, and the release choice is the real decision inside the family. Step to the 45C or 50C when panel vans are weekly, and to the 55C when width, not weight, is your problem.

What does the S suffix mean on some models?

S variants share their base model's published parameters; ask for the difference to be confirmed as configuration detail in writing at quote stage. If an S model is quoted to you, ask what distinguishes it in writing.

Are wider models harder to install?

The bolting and concrete questions are the same; the space question grows. A 4,500 mm total width needs a bay planned around it, which is a drawing exercise before ordering, not a surprise on delivery day.
