Fit check: storage fit is a height sum: the raised platform, the car on it and the car beneath must all fit inside your ceiling — do that arithmetic before anything else.

The daily routine of a storage platform

Storage on a four-post platform is a choreography, and it suits households and businesses whose cars move in a predictable order. The car that leaves last parks on the platform and goes up; the car that leaves first parks beneath. Reversing the order costs one shuffle, which is why storage lifts reward planners and punish improvisers — a truth worth facing before purchase, because the machine will not change it.

The platform's 1,700 mm main lift gives the under-space its height: a car beneath needs its roofline under the raised runways, and a car above needs its roofline under your ceiling. The 4,000 kg capacity is shared by whatever is on the platform — one car at a time in storage use — and the platform's own locks, not its hydraulics, hold the stored car for the duration.

Storage platform or parking system?

This catalogue sells both answers to stacked parking, and they are different machines. The XP-7640 is a workshop platform that stores: it also lifts for inspection and light work, and its rolling jack gives wheel-free access at one end. The XP-1127 parking system is a dedicated parking unit with its own accepted car sizes. If the upper slot is storage-first and the machine must also earn as a lift, this page is yours; if the job is pure parking density, the parking page is.

Either way, the building decides: ceiling height over the bay, floor strength at four post feet, and the approach line for the lower car. Send those three facts with the inquiry: they are the facts a fit answer needs.

Siting checks for storage use

  • The height sum: raised platform plus upper car plus lower car's roofline, inside your ceiling.
  • Which car leaves first — park it below — and whether that order is stable week to week.
  • Floor strength at the four post feet and the lower car's parking surface.
  • Approach room for the lower car to enter under the raised platform.
  • Air supply for the locking system at the platform's position.

Questions buyers ask about car storage lift

How long can a car stay stored on it?

Storage is a design use of this platform: the mechanical locks carry the platform at height. Long stays are normal; adopt the manufacturer's lock and inspection routine, and ask for it in writing with the machine's documentation.

Can I work under the stored car?

The platform lifts for inspection and light work like any four-post; sustained underbody repair work is two-post territory, and storage and repair should not share the same hours on the same machine.

Is the parking system cheaper for pure storage?

For pure parking density the dedicated XP-1127 is the comparison to make — take exactly which car sizes it accepts from its page. Quote both against your building's figures and the answer usually makes itself.
