XP-499 / XP-499A

Heavy duty truck tire changers

The XP-499 and XP-499A are the top of the truck changer range: self-centring chucks working rims to 46 and 48 inches — 56 and 60 inches with extensions — and wheels to 2,000 kg, driven by 3.3/4.0 kW hydraulic and gearbox motors.

Fit check: this pair fits the fleet and agricultural-adjacent work where wheels outgrow the standard truck range — size it from your largest wheel, not your average one.

The top of the truck range

Everything about these two machines is the standard truck changer idea at larger scale: the wheel mounts by its centre hole on a self-centring chuck, the tool carriage travels the bead-breaking disc and mounting tool along the wheel, and hydraulic drive turns assemblies that no turntable motor would move. The XP-499 takes rims 14–46 inches, wheels to 2,000 kg, 1,200 mm wide and 2,500 mm in diameter. The XP-499A extends every figure: rims 14–48 inches, tyres to 1,400 mm wide and 2,600 mm diameter.

The extension ranges — to 56 and 60 inches respectively — are published as part of both models' rim capacity, for the occasional oversize wheel that a fleet or earthmover-adjacent workshop meets. A machine bought for its extension range should have that range confirmed as supplied configuration at quote stage; a machine bought for daily 46-inch work is already home.

Power and weight, honestly read

Both models run 3.3/4.0 kW motors on the hydraulic pump and the gearbox, on 400V three-phase supply. The XP-499's machine weight is published at approximately 1,175 kg. For the XP-499A, work from its gross weight (1,737 kg) and ask for the net in writing with your quotation.

At this scale the installation conversation is logistics: floor loading, door and turning space for wheels approaching 2.6 metres, and the staging area where tyres wait. Those are site facts to send with the inquiry, and they decide whether the machine's capacity is usable capacity in your building.

Checks before a heavy-duty truck-changer quote

  • Your largest wheel's diameter, width and weight, from the fleet list.
  • Whether extension range is daily need or occasional insurance — and supplied configuration confirmed.
  • Three-phase 400V supply at the machine's position.
  • Floor loading and wheel-handling room for 2.6 m assemblies.
  • The XP-499A's net weight and any unpublished figures, confirmed in writing.

Questions buyers ask about heavy duty truck tire changer

499 or 499A?

The 499A buys the wider envelope — 48-inch rims, 1,400 mm tyres, 2,600 mm diameter. If your largest work fits the 499's figures with margin, it is the sufficient machine; if you already meet wheels at its edge, the A is the honest step.

Can these machines do ordinary truck wheels?

Yes — the ranges start at 14 inches. A heavy-duty machine on daily standard work is slower economics than the XP-498 group, but as a single-machine fleet answer it covers everything under it.

What about agricultural and earthmover wheels?

The diameter and extension ranges reach into that territory; rim and centre-hole forms vary widely there. Send the wheel details and have the chuck configuration confirmed for your exact wheels before ordering.
